Aliko Dangote

Alhaji Aliko Dangote(April 10,  1957-) is a Nigerian Billionaire, worth $13.8 billion by 2011 and the richest African rated by Forbes. Dangote
began his career as a commodity trader. He owns Dangote Cement and Benue Cement. Under Dangote Group, a conglomerate, he owns interest in sugar, flour milling, salt processing, cement manufacturing, textiles, real estate, and oil and gas.

Aliko was born in Kano, to Alhaji Sanusi Dantata, who provided him with capital to start his first commodity trading business in 1977. Attaining great success, he incorporated in 1981, forming the basis of the Dangote Group. 

As of 2014, Dangote is estimated to be worth $23.1 billion and is the world’s 25th richest person, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires’ Index.
