Chin chin is a Nigerian and West African finger snack. It is a quick small treat sold by street vendor all around Nigeria especially the northern part of the country. Large quantities are made for celebrations.
Chin chin is made out of simple flour, butter, nutmeg, sugar, salt, and baking soda. Eggs are optional. The dough can be cut into any shapes. Squares and bowties are popular shapes. It is fried in peanut oil or other vegetable oil. It can last for several months, if properly covered and stored.
