Corn (Maize) is one of the major world staples. The US is the number one producer of corn. It was domesticated in the Americas.
Two parts are involve in the development of corn. The upper part is the pollen, which fertilizes the lower parts called firs. When the firs are brown and dry, the corn is ready to be harvested.
Corn loves sunlight. The soil should be loose and full of organic matter, compost. They need lots of space. It should be planted one foot apart. It should also be well watered.
To plant corn, take a hoe and dig channels. Place fertilizers in the channels and then dirt on top halfway up the channels. Lay the seeds in the channels, one foot apart, then cover with soil. Corn will mature 20 days after fir appears.
