Naqada III

Naqada III(c. 3200 - 3000 BC),  Proto-dynastic Period, or Dynasty 0  was a phase in predynastic Egyptian history when Pharaonic traditions became fully developed. Egypt became unified, after which ushered in the First Dynasty, under Narmer. Naqada III parallels Nubian A-Group. 

Major political and cultural shift took place. The center of  political power shifted from Hierakonpolis to Abydos. The culture of Upper Egypt spread throughout Egypt, including Lower Egypt. Cemetaries became even more elaborate and reflected great wealth. Royal names began appearing in Serekhs.

Major technological innovations were achieved. The most important innovation was writing, the development of hieroglyph. Narratives began appearing on paletes. Sail navigation was invented independently from the Middle East.
