Sou-Sou( the Box) is a financial arrangement found in West Indian communities, which serves as a means of attaining capital. A group of people get together and begin placing their money together. Every week each member puts a $100 or other amount, in the "pile." Then all funds is distributed to one member, until each member has a turn in receiving all the funds or "taking a hand." Sou-Sou can be setup using a bank or more informally among family members, neighbors, or friends.
